Below we present dual studies of plastics processing at UTP University of Science and Technology in Bydgoszcz at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering. The studies last 3,5 years and are run in a dual system in the following specializations: Technological and the CAD/CAM Tool. It is the first course of this kind in Bydgoszcz awarded the nationwide certificate – Studies with a future, being a contemporary form of combining theory with practice acquired directly in an enterprise. The system of studies offered by a reputable technical university combined with work at one of the member companies of Bydgoszcz Industrial Cluster gives an opportunity to acquire knowledge and practice, which are both necessary in the future professional life.
It is assumed that theoretical course is weekly run at university, while the practice is organized in the enterprise. These are paid practices. That form of education already starts from the second course of studies: 4+1 days (3rd and 4th semester) and 3+2 days (5th and 6th semester). Besides, the students take paid internships during inter-semester breaks (4-6 weeks).
Dual studies are a system of acquiring knowledge and professional experience at the same time.
It is an ideal solution for people who want to take up technical studies. The graduates will be hired in the enterprises they have practised.
